Waiting in Vain 快闪展览

Pop-up Photo Exhibition

Artist: Kathy Hua
Date: Nov 2 - 3, 2017
Location: I: project space

This project is a series of camera obscura environmental portraits of Beijing hutong homeowners. The photographer turns the hutong rooms into the camera itself, and takes long-exposure portraits of the inhabitants.Over 60 years, socially-marginalized hutong homeowners witness the fast-changing redevelopment of new Beijing. As they wait to turn the clock back, their home is already broken. This project is about waiting, waiting spontaneously and self-willed, fatalistic and unpromising, waiting in the dim light,in the fast-changing space, and in the passing time and memories.

This is a photo exhibition and documentary lasting for 48 hours.
